At Button School, our values are grounded in the belief that great design is practical, visible, and rooted in real-world application. These guiding principles shape how we teach, learn, and build, ensuring our work remains clear, useful, and lasting.

1. Make it tangible

   We lead with examples, not explanations. Concepts are best understood through demonstration, so we prioritize working code, real prototypes, and visible outcomes.

   Abstractions only go so far—learning sticks when ideas become things you can see, touch, or use. We turn theory into practice as quickly as possible.

2. Gather context

   Design decisions only make sense in context. We always ask: Who is this for? Where and how will it be used? Our work is shaped by real needs and situations.

   We share our process openly because context emerges through collaboration. By making work visible early and often, we invite others to bring their own perspective and help us see what we might miss.

3. Durability over disposability

   We approach design with care, discipline, and respect for details. Craftsmanship means sweating the small stuff and continually honing our skills.

   We build for the long term. Instead of chasing trends or quick fixes, we focus on creating tools, lessons, and systems that last.
