Formatting
After mixing AP standard with Button School logic, here are some more specific guidelines in terms of formatting:
Capitalization
Capitalize words when they appear as such on screen in the design software.
Quotation Marks
Use quotation marks. They always go after a period or a comma.
Select “Set variable,” and you’ll see there are two to choose from: “Stop Light” and “Slow Light.”
Emphasis
Use bold text to emphasize when the word is technical or educational.
Use italic text to emphasize when the word is not technical or educational.
To make it look inactive, head to the design panelā¦
ā¦there are three pillars supporting it since delight can be experienced in three different ways: viscerally, behaviorally, and reflectively.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Use bold text for keyboard shortcuts when written as part of a sentence or paragraph.
Press Shift + E to enter prototype mode, then connect a noodle from the button to the toast notification.
In Chalk, prefer to use angle brackets to wrap keystrokes, like this:
Press <<Shift + E>> to enter prototype mode, then connect a noodle from the button to the toast notification.
This will be rendered as:
Press ShiftE to enter prototype mode, then connect a noodle from the button to the toast notification.
